Live around the corner, never fails to impress. Consistent always, pricing is more then fair on their breakfast special and haddock and halibut special days. The servers are friendly. Would definitely recommend

"It's a fire hazard" replies the server about having two strollers parked at one table. I was quite surprised at this statement when we asked to be seated. Reluctantly they shifted a table over for us. First impressions on service are horrible.We all ordered the halibut and chips. The fish was a little dry but overall wasn't that bad for the price. The breakfast food here is really cheap and it does bring a crowd for a quick and easy meal in the morning. I have been to the bluenose fish and chips restaurant across the street by the shoppers and the service is 100x better and the fish and chips are worth the extra couple of bucks, compared to the one served here at the halibut house.

Halibut house is a fish and chips restaurant that also does standard breakfast. Service is friendly and efficient. Had the mushy peas, onion rings, and halibut fish and chips lunch special. Portions were generous. Fish was slightly on the dry side. Place was packed on a Monday lunch. Free parking in plaza and free WiFi (pass code required and provided)

I highly recommend not going to this location. The vinegar bottle was filled with dirty water. We noticed after we put it all over our fries and we've ate some of the fries. I tried to explain to them how disgusting and how much of a appetite killer that was. First they tried to offer fresh fries, then they were being rude about their own mistake. No apologies. If I could give this place a zero I would. Disgusting !

We had the Homemade Fish Chowder, Onion rings and Seafood Platter (Haddock, 3 Shrimp, 3 Scallops, and Fries with coleslaw). The food was awesome, the scallops juicy, the shrimp tender and the fish awesomely crunchy! We really loved our food here, and definitely going to make this a repeat affair. The staff was super courteous and sweet. We really enjoyed our experience here. Definite recommend!

Good overall, spacey and clean restaurant , quick service, foods are fine. I think everyone likes the Sun & Mon’s Special deal 😊

Ordered the Sunday special tonight for dinner,the fish was not oily. The fries were freshly cut and nicely proportioned. Would definitely come again to try their other dishes.

We haven't been here in awhile. We would come for breakfast and also get some take out fish and chips. Breakfast special is a great price and is a good basic breakfast. Last night, was the first time in a long time that we ordered the take out fish and chips. Very disappointing. The fish was ok, but extremely greasy. The fries had absolutely no flavour. Worst fries ever. They were dry inside and bland. Even with seasoning and ketchup there was nothing saving these fries. I think I will try Blue Nose up the street again. Halibut House was better than Blue Nose when they first opened, now I will be going to Blue Nose and given them another try.Sorry Halibut House, your quality of food is driving us away.

Very poor cashier service, the cashier talking not nice and no patience, face no smile, .I would highly recommend this restaurant improve service skill. talk nice, smile face, be patience listen to customer, respect customer.

I tried the lunch special for $10.95, it included halibut, chips, coleslaw and your choice of pop or soup. I chose the soup, which is a fish chowder. The chowder was just chowder, not offensive but nothing to wow about. The halibut was good quality, but expected bigger crispier batter around the fish. The chips were just fried fries, most fish&chip places I have been to (including England) the chips are crispy/golden on the outside and fluffy potato inside. The coleslaw was just coleslaw. I agree with another reviewer that the restaurant could use an update in decor. The service was friendly and fast. The overall experience was underwhelming not bad, but not great.

Let's be honest. You're not going to get world class British-style fish and chips anywhere in Toronto or the GTA, so stop trying. But ... Halibut House is a good alternative. The quality is always very consistent, the batter never undercooked or overcooked, the prices are reasonable, and the portion sizes are decent without being huge. I've tried several other places but for quality and consistency Halibut House remains my favourite

I've always come to this place for fish and chips and today is the first time I ordered it for takeout during covid. I called, the lady answered the phone was rude. When the time we came pick up the takeout, the lady was rude in person. We were not sure if she had a bad day but service business she should not put her attitude to the customer. the fish & chips are good, but i would not come back for a long time as there are many restaurant choices around.

We were in the area and was deciding what to eat and saw the Halibut House, since we haven't had fish and chips for a while we decided to try that and it was a great decision. We were greeted and seated right away. We were thrilled they also served breakfast which was a better option for our kids. Plus you can't go wrong with $3.95 for the breakfast which was a good portion for our kids. Once we decided on our orders the food was brought to us quickly all at once. The food was great, the portions was huge and the price was reasonable. We had to pack some to go too.The restaurants was spacious and it was busy the whole time we were there, but since everything was quick everyone was in and out quickly as well. We would definitely be back to try other items.

I love love love the staff here! The ladies are so friendly! Food is always good to. It’s our go to place for going out to dinner. I do wish they would put the sauce is squirt bottle like the other locations. So bad for the environment, and messy. But either way I love this place!

Great fish and chips! I wish the chips were lightly salted though. Other than that, it was splendid. I had the haddock and my family had halibut! They loved theirs!

I miss going to this restaurant before the quarantine started. Great family owned fish and chips place. Fish is fried to perfection with the right amount of batter. Service is very friendly too. You just sat yourself on the table. Fish came with chips (obviously) and a small amount of coleslaw. This reminds me that I should get takeout here soon.

A friend recommended this place to us and we drove 30 minutes to get "The best fish and chips in Toronto", his words not mine, and definitely did not disappoint.We went on a quiet Friday night and was warmly greeted by the server. She was very nice and attentive, checked on us often to see if we're doing alright.We all chose halibut with chips and coleslaw and man did it live up to the hype. The coleslaw was lightly dressed, simple and refreshing, nothing to call home about but was good none the less. The chips were portioned generously and also good but not amazing. The star of the show however was the halibut. It was lightly battered, crispy, good portion, and most importly it was moist. The taste and texture was good but to call it the best would be a stretch, but definitely up there on the list.Overall a good fish and chips shop but not really worth the 30 minute drive just to eat it. If I was in the neighbourhood already I would definitely drop by.

Great little place for classic style fish and chips. I believe they have a sign up that says breakfast for $3.49 or something like that. Cant go wrong with that!!!
